This draft map is part of the Carbon Containment Lab’s ongoing effort to document and analyze global destruction capacity for ODS and HFCs. We are collecting data on facility locations, technologies, capacities, CapEx and OpEx costs, and permits through desktop research, project documentation, comparison of notes with project developers and implementing agencies, and direct outreach to waste destruction facilities. The goal is to better understand the current global destruction capacity and compare it to the estimated volumes of gases requiring environmentally sound end-of-life treatment, and identify finance and investment needs.
