Violet Dorsey-Reyes

Violet is a rising junior at Yale College pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Earth & Planetary Sciences and a Certificate in Climate Solutions. Her interests lie in applying science and technology to develop sustainable alternatives to environmentally harmful systems, while advancing equitable access and environmental justice.

At the CC Lab, her work focuses on alternative cooling technologies and accelerating the shift away from traditional fluorinated-gas (F-gas) cooling systems while expanding access to cooling worldwide. Her research investigates emission reduction in the cooling sector through pathways such as solid-state cooling technologies and green building systems and standards.

Outside the lab, Violet competes on Yale's Varsity Swimming & Diving Team, is a member of Yale's Engineers Without Borders chapter, enjoys photography, and loves to cook.
