Aya Ochiai

Aya is a student at Yale studying mechanical engineering and environmental studies. At the CC Lab, she is part of the team working on the Carbon TrapRock project. She wrote her mechanical engineering thesis on the feasibility of fish passage implementation for the dams on the Skagit River and her environmental studies thesis on the community and environment surrounding a nuclear energy research, testing, and waste management facility in southeastern Idaho. In the past, she has worked at the National Renewable Energy Lab on mechanical design of a tidal turbine. She is very proudly from Skagit Valley in Washington State!
