Andrew Pomerantz
Drew is a Director at the CC Lab.
Drew is a physical chemist with two decades of experience in the energy and sustainability sectors. His career spans scientific research, venture capital, and corporate innovation, all unified by a focus on high-impact measurement and environmental solutions. Earlier in his career, he developed new methods to characterize the geology of unconventional resources and to measure the chemical composition of complex mixtures. In 2021, he co-founded SLB End-to-end Emissions Solutions (SEES), an internal startup dedicated to measuring and mitigating methane emissions from the oil and gas industry, where he directed strategy, technology, marketing, and government affairs.
Drew’s work extends into the clean energy venture ecosystem, where he has invested in and advised sustainability startups and built business cases for corporate expansion into new energy markets. A recognized expert in atmospheric greenhouse gas emissions, he served as a Distinguished Lecturer for the Society of Petroleum Engineers in 2022–2023, speaking on the topic of methane emissions. Drew holds a PhD in chemical physics from Stanford University and a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Yale University.
