The Carbon Containment Lab (CC Lab) is on a mission to support the development and implementation of low-cost and scalable climate solutions. We hope to accelerate global mitigation of climate change, while also being a world-class center for education and professional development in climate solutions.

Our dynamic and growing team seeks an experienced, skilled, and motivated person to join us in New Haven, Connecticut as a Principal. This position is a fantastic opportunity for a self-directed individual with outstanding project management skills and experience leading or managing complex multi-disciplinary projects, and a deep commitment to fighting climate change to help build, shape, and manage core programs and projects here at the Lab. The ideal candidate will have a strong subject matter expertise and/or training related to one or more of the Lab’s existing projects, such as in geosciences, forest science and/or policy, refrigerants, methane, carbon capture, or carbon markets. We are looking for someone who enjoys building and managing ambitious projects with multi-disciplinary teams, is curious, motivated, and enjoys solving tangible problems. If you are eager to roll up your sleeves and join us in the fight against climate change, we’d love to hear from you!

About the CC Lab

The Carbon Containment Lab (CC Lab) is a New Haven-based 501(c)(3) climate nonprofit focused on supporting the development, testing, and implementation of novel and neglected climate solutions. Currently, our work concentrates on developing, testing, and helping to advance the adoption of several critical climate solutions, including removing and storing carbon dioxide, measuring and mitigating methane, and recovering and destroying ultra-potent greenhouse gases.

The CC Lab was founded at the Yale School of the Environment in 2020 and spun out into an independent nonprofit in early 2024. Our spinout gives us an exciting opportunity to grow our team, sharpen our organizational strategy, execute on our projects, expand internationally, and move with greater speed and agility to make an impact.

We are lucky to work in a bright, modern, and vibrant office space in downtown New Haven, with about a dozen students working part-time as interns during the school year and over the summer.
